Where the Greenhouse Isn't
Once upon a time we had an old greenhouse:
and then today, John (left) arrived and started to take it down, assisted by our friend David.
Fortunately it is going to a new home in Holmfirth, which is good. So it was all loaded into and onto John's van:
and now - - there it isn't!
I'm always surprised by how such a short period of time can make such a difference - that greenhouse has been there for years and years, and has been part of the view every time I've looked out of the office window.
The next job is to concrete the base before putting a shed there (you notice I write this as though I'll be mixing the concrete myself, which is not exactly the truth).
It's going to make a big difference to the look of the garden, which is all full of daffodils and Spring. Hurrah - thanks to John, and David, and Will who helped too.

Just leave that pile of bricks there and charge an admission fee to The New Tate Gallery (Northern Division).
Could be a nice little earner.
Heh heh, different ways of saying the same thing http://www.deletetheweb.com/unstuck/
Yes, Silverback and John, an excellent idea. I'm going to rename the lawn the Sculpture Garden and charge a fiver admission. Of course Damien Hirst once got drunk at a bonfire party in this very garden so I think that gives it added credibility. And if anyone wants to buy the remaining bricks, any reasonable offer accepted over two hundred grand.
Oh these philistines! So much great English architecture has been lost to modernising vandals. That greenhouse was an elegant structure - at once functional and sleek and yet you have condemned it to the heart of darkness in grey old Holmfirth. Are you proud of yourself Daphne? Will the communist be happy looking down from his cloud?
YP - if the Communist's sitting on a cloud he'll be really grumpy anyway as he'll be forced to admit he was wrong about everything, and he won't like THAT. And the greenhouse is to be replaced by the Communist Memorial Shed - - and if he IS on the cloud, he'll like that. And if he's not - - well, I still do!
